Course Fees

To be eligible for a fully or part-funded course you must be either:

  • A resident of the UK/EU for 3 years prior to the beginning of the course
  • A British/EU citizen or have the right to reside in the uk
  • A refugee who has been resident in the UK since the granting of refugee status
  • An asylum seeker with 6 months residency

The main categories for full concession tuition are:

  • In receipt of Job Seekers Allowance or Employment and Support Allowance (Work Related Activity Group)
  • Universal Credit, earning less than £330 per month and determined by the Job Centre to be in a work related group
  • Studying your first full Level 2 qualification
  • Studying your first full Level 3 qualification having left the British Armed Forces after completing 4 or more years of service or, having completed basic training, been medically discharged due to an injury in active service

Eligibility will be assessed at enrolment. Full concessions still need to pay a minimum fee of £21 or more depending on the course.

Newham residents may be entitled to a reduced tuition fee of £2 per taught hour (plus examination fee and resources costs where applicable) if you are receiving one of the following benefits:

  • Personal Independence Payment
  • Disability Allowance
  • State Old Age Pension Credit
  • Council Tax Benefit
  • Housing Benefit
  • Income Support
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Contribution Based ESA (No Work Related Activity Group) or if you are an unwaged dependent of someone receiving one of the above benefits
