Introduction to Life Drawing (Clothed)

In this 5 week course you will work with a variety of clothed models and be shown how to draw in various mediums such as charcoal and pencil. You will be shown methods to measure proportion and the potential uses of a putty rubber. You will also be introduced on how to use light, dark and negative spaces to represent form. As the models in these sessions are clothed there will be less of a focus on the anatomy and more of a focus on proportions, negative space and composition.
Please note: Although this is not a qualification course you will be required to take photos of your work and reflect on what you have learnt on this course
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Use a range of different materials to represent the human form
- Start to understand proportions and composition
- Use tonal values to represent volume in the figure
- Gain an understanding how to use measuring techniques to accurately draw the human figure
- Have gained confidence in observational drawing skills
Ideal for
This course is ideal for beginners and improvers. This is a relaxing and supportive environment in which to improve your drawing skills. No prior experience is required.
