Introduction to Pottery

This introductory 5 week course for beginners teaches you the fundamentals of pottery. During this course you will learn different hand building techniques; slab building, pinch and coil as well as learning how to decorate using glazes. You will also gain an understanding of health and safety whilst using the studio and glaze material.
Please note: Although this is not a qualification course you will be required to take photos of your work and reflect on what you have learnt on this course
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- have an understanding of different hand building techniques
- Use different tools to make pottery items.
- Demonstrate knowledge in studio health and safety
- Apply glazes using different application techniques
- Use glazes safely in the studio
Introduction to Pottery will also run on Saturdays from 10am-1pm, starting 8th June for five weeks. When booking please specify which session you would like to book.

This course is ideal for complete beginners and adults wanting to explore pottery in a gentle learning environment with no prior skills required.

This is a non-accredited course with no prior knowledge required and is suitable for beginners, 19 plus. No entry requirements required.
