Pottery: ONLS Entry Level 3 Daytime Course

In this 10-week pottery course for beginners you will learn to build & decorate a vessel or a sculpture with the fundamentals of hand building techniques; slab building, pinch and coil, as well as throwing techniques as well as learning to decorate surfaces with glazes.
Please note: This is an accredited course and involves some written work.
This course is made up of one mandatory unit: Create a Piece of Craft or Design. This is split into the following Learning objectives:
Learning outcome 1
1 The learner will: understand how a craft or design project is made
1.1 demonstrate awareness of materials to create crafted items or designs
Learning outcome 2
2 The learner will: be able to create a crafted item or design
2.1 combine 2 or more materials/items to create a craft item or design
Ideal for
- Learners who wish to develop a portfolio of artwork, sculptures and design ideas.
- Learners studying in preparation for employment in Art and Design or the creative industry
- Those wishing to gain an Entry Level 3 qualification to support further study.

Entry requirements
All qualifications require an initial assessment. This course is open to anybody with an interest in working with 3D media, from complete beginners to the more advanced learners who want to improve their skills further. You will be given simple demonstrations supported with hand-outs.
