Newham Pride Map Arts Workshop

FreeNewham Pride Map: Collecting and Connecting is a socially engaged project that intends to reach and engage LGBTQIA+ individuals. As part of the project, artist Larissa De Filippo invites the local queer community and their allies to participate in a series of workshops.
Date: 22nd June 4-8 pm
Location: Tracks – Railway Arches, 437 Cranmer Rd, Forest Gate, London E7 0JN
The workshops will focus on different creative media or themes:
- Contemporary collecting
- Photography and film
- Collage and illustration
- Poetry and creative writing
- Digital mapping
This project will culminate with the creation of a collaborative piece of art – Newham Pride Map – mapping the queer life in the borough of Newham, showcasing LGBTQ+ community stories and pride. This work will be available for public view on the East Village in Stratford from the 17th July 2021.

About Larissa De Filippo
Larissa De Filippo, a queer visual artist based in east London, is one of the artists on our Accelerator Scheme. Her work is a mix of photography, film and performance. Larissa’s main interest is “community-engaged art” focusing on interaction and dialogue with the community.
Larissa was one of the artists who led the consultations and creative workshops which helped shape the Mayor of London’s memorial to honour key workers and commemorate Londoners who have lost their lives to COVID-19. She is also a member of the Rosetta Photographers’ Collective.
