Fabienne is a past participant in the Rosetta Arts’ Artist Accelerator scheme. She is a Franco-British painter based in Newham. She graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2008 with a fine art BA and her work is part of private and public collections in the USA, UK, Europe, China and Australia. She has taken part in group exhibitions across the UK.
In her work, she explores the physicality of paint and the power of story-telling. She uses the rhythm of marks, the thickness of layers and the fluidity of oil paint to build textured images where fragility and strength cohabit side by side. Fabienne’s paintings often have a dark and melancholic side but are also injected with humour and a love of the surreal. Her work contains references to film, music and pop culture combined mixed with her own memories and experiences.
She also works part-time in the field of mental health and has a real interest in how art can help people find their voice and how creativity can be used to express thoughts and feelings.
Fabienne said upon receiving a place on the Artists Accelerator programme:
“I am delighted to be part of the 2022 Artist Accelerator programme. I really look forward to developing my practice and having the opportunity to interact with other artists and local communities to start a creative dialogue.”
