Year 7 Theme: Sustainable and Recyclable Art

Students explored the concept of sustainable/recyclable art focussing on Art Povera and impact of these ideas and aesthetics on modern and contemporary artistic development.

Year 8 Theme: Exploring Modern Art through early 19th Century social and historical events Students explored more sophisticated visual languages in the context of world events in the early 19th Century. By focussing on the influential modernist art school movement – the Bauhaus – and the ways the movement bridged the gap between fine art, theatre, design and manufacturing, this element of the programme supported the design and technology aspect of the national curriculum.
