Big ideas for our Young Makers at TEDxLondon

It’s been a busy month for the Young Makers at Rosetta Arts who headed over to the Royal Festival Hall for the TEDxLondon Beyond Borders 2019 conference.

With a jam-picked bill, including the Chief Executive of Oxfam, recording artist Shocka, novelists, performers, policymakers, scientists, laywers and more, it promised to be a stimulating and thought-proving day.

So what did our Young Makers think of it all?

“Really interesting and informative. My favourite talk was the one about how the brain makes decisions and what it’s like on paper when you are undecided.” Musa

TEDx was a great experience… we really enjoyed it! It was good to hear of so many new ideas for change.

“I enjoyed the Ted talk, it was my first time going. I have watched many Ted talks, so being able to watch it live was really awesome. I liked the talk about pollution the most as it showed what is happening and what needs to stop and what needs to happen. There wasn’t a talk that I didn’t like. I would recommend going and would like to go again if opportunity comes up. Thank you.” Aadam (aged 12)

“TEDx was a great experience… we really enjoyed it! It was good to hear of so many new ideas for change. They also had an exhibition called xLab and we took the opportunity to speak to the different exhibitors about their products and why they developed them to help make better changes. It was inspiring to know we can all make a difference!” Rumaysaa (aged 14)

“It was really fun going to such a nice venue. The talks were very interesting and it was also good seeing people’s ideas in the xLab exhibition.” Sumayyah (aged 11)

Our Young Makers programme Get Started with Art! is for young people who are curious about a career within the creative sectors and developing their artistic skills.
