Call out: Here at Rosetta Arts, we’re looking to commission an artist to produce the designs for the bold final glass installations for use for the CO1 Community building and on the eastern wall boundary of the Twelve Trees Stephenson Street Development.
Deadline for applications: *** Extended to 23.59pm, 7 January 2022 ***
Design Fee (without production of final public work): £8,000-15,000
Aims and Objectives
Rosetta Arts is inviting applications on behalf of Berkeley Homes from mid-career and established UK-based artists (East London and Newham desired) who wish to develop their practice in new ways by working with Rosetta Arts and developing their public engagement activities. We would like the selected practitioner to create a design for a permanent installation for the Berkeley Homes Twelve Trees Development. Applicants must have significant and proven experience in professional practice. Proposals should be dynamic, ambitious and inspiring – pushing forward the boundaries of contemporary creative practice, with a focus on participation and inclusivity.
To ensure the activities and final design is appealing to the widest possible audience, in keeping with the design and quality of the development and especially to the local residents, the artist will deliver a community engagement programme of 1 workshop for local residents (between 2 hours to 4 hrs). Exploring the selected artist’s creative themes.
The process will capture this enthusiasm, be inclusive and interesting, and thoughtful to look at. The images produced in workshops, with resource materials provided will act as a springboard to elicit ideas and will in turn inform the final designs for the bold final artworks for use for both the CO1 Community building and on the eastern wall boundary of the Twelve Trees Stephenson Street Development.
Rosetta Arts will provide support throughout the project and the community engagement workshop, encouraging the use of Rosetta’s facilities and resources. The project is integral to the on-going practice of Rosetta’s work in the community, and we hope the selected practitioner will create a dynamic, creative experience with an emphasis on participation and on-going relations between Berkeley Homes, Rosetta, LB Newham and the community.
