CALL OUT: Donate a postcard artwork to our secret sale

*** UPDATE: DEADLINE EXTENDED TO WEDNESDAY 20 NOVEMBER ***

So far we have received postcards from an eclectic range of artists, such as internationally exhibited Klaus Pinter, and local artists Steve Marriott, Eleanor Pearce and Lydia Thornbury. We are delighted to have entries from Rosetta alumni such as Amber Perrier, and a selection from our stellar ALDD Arts & Craft group. But we need even more so we’re extending the deadline! Please get creating and send yours in!

At Rosetta Arts, we change lives through creativity. But as a charity, we are increasingly relying on the generosity of donors so that we can keep on offering art opportunities to the diverse communities of Newham and wider east London.

So that’s where we need your help.

We are looking for artists – a mix of emerging and well-known – to donate a postcard artwork to our secret Christmas sale.

All funds raised from the sale will go towards the most vital areas of our work, whether that’s ensuring we can continue running mosaics courses for adults with learning difficulties, delivering art classes for survivors of domestic abuse, or replacing our dying kiln.

All funds raised from the sale will go towards the most vital areas of our work

Will you donate a postcard or postcard-sized artwork? If yes, thank you so much! Here are the steps you need to take:

  1. Tell us you will donate an artwork by filling in this very short form
  2. Write your name on the back of the postcard or artwork so that it won’t be visible while displayed
  3. Email us when your work is ready with the title of the work, the medium and a line of information about it
  4. Deliver or post your artwork to Maggie Falshaw, Rosetta Arts, 1 Hamilton Road, E15 3AE by Wednesday 20 November
  5. If you can, let people know you have donated a work (but not which one!) by sharing on social media with the hashtag #RosettaSecretSale.

Key things to know

  • The artworks will go on sale at our secret sale in the Humble Gallery that launches on 11 December and runs until 17 December. You can request to attend the sale event on 11 December 4 – 7.30pm by emailing info@rosettarts.org (places are limited).
  • Works will also go on sale online on 12 December.
  • We will be thanking artists for donating postcards on social media BUT people won’t know the artist behind their artwork until they have purchased it
  • Each postcard will be priced at £25 and all proceeds will go back into Rosetta Arts’ charitable work
  • We intend to put every artwork we receive on sale, but we reserve the right to not sell or promote an artwork if it is deemed inappropriate for the sale.

If you have any questions, get in touch with us by email. Thanks so much for supporting Rosetta Arts.
