Do you enjoy being creative? We have a fantastic opportunity for you to explore what your home and identity means to you through art!
Over a period of three weeks you will be invited to:
- Take part in Zooms with a professional community artist from Newham
- Learn how to make films on your phone by a real filmmaker and have your videos showcased as part of a festival
- Learn new artistic skills and ways of expressing yourself, and work together in small groups
- Celebrate your work and the community as part of live socially-distanced meet-ups
No experience needed – just interest and passion!
This amazing opportunity only has a few places so needs commitment to the following. To take part you MUST be available from Mondays to Wednesdays from 20th – 29th July:
- Mondays 10.00-11.30am on Zoom plus minimum 90 mins matched creating/ researching time daily independently
- Tuesday 10.00-11.30am on Zoom plus minimum 90 mins matched creating/ researching time daily independently
- Wednesdays 10.00-11.30am on Zoom plus minimum 90 mins matched creating/ researching time daily independently and/ or meeting on Wanstead Flats 6.00-7.30pm to share outcomes with and in the local community
There will a final (socially distanced) event on Wanstead flats at a date that works for you.
What else do you need to know?
- Places are first come first served. You must commit to the whole project if you sign up
- You must live in Newham and be aged 12-18
- We will cover any expenses for travel, and mobile phone data up to £10 if required
- You need to be enrolled to take part: enrol by contacting

parental consent. Please also download the free app Adobe Premiere Rush - You must give consent to be filmed to take part in this project as it involves creating a video
