Newham Unlocked Art Trail

Unity Exhibition at Tower Gallery

Step inside the landmark Tower Gallery in Plaistow this month to see our unity exhibition, For Real: Four Women Artists in Newham, a curated group show by four local artists – Sylvie Belbouab, Farah Ishaq, Ada Jusic and Aisha Naim – exploring the theme of unity and community. The Newham based artists will bring their incredible original photography, miniature and large scale artwork, vibrant illustrations, hand printed lino, mono and screen print works and a healthy dose of community spirit for you to enjoy.

The four female artists, who are working together for the very first time, will exhibit work referencing a variety of social issues – everything from isolation to childhood. The exhibit of more than 40 artworks at this grade II listed Byzantine-style church will also feature international cultural perspectives from France, Bosnia, Pakistan and Mauritius.

Dates: 17th September – 17th October 2021 (Meet the Artist events: Sunday 19 September: Farah Ishaq, Sunday 26 September: Aisha Naim, Sunday 3 October: Sylvie Belbouab, Sunday 10 October: Ada Jusic)
