Callout: Newham Word Festival – Call for Artist who uses Spoken Word

Deadline for applications: Wednesday 12th December 2018

Bursary: £450 to deliver 2 workshops. The artist is responsible for paying all necessary income tax on earnings.

Exhibition: your work will be on display in The Humble Gallery for 2 – 4 weeks. You can make it available for sale, subject to the Gallery commission.

Rosetta Arts is inviting applications from emerging Newham artists who combine visual art and words. You could be a calligraphist, typographer or graphic designer. The selected artist’s work will be on display at our on-site gallery, the Humble Gallery for 2 – 4 weeks during the Newham Word Festival February – March 2019.

Workshops: The chosen artist will, along with our trained community artists, design and deliver two workshops inspired by the artist’s themes, style and use of medium. Rosetta Arts is committed to working with families and adults with disabilities and learning disabilities. The workshops will be an excellent opportunity for local families and disabled adults to explore words in a fun, dynamic and creative way. They will also have the opportunity to visit the exhibition as well as meeting the artist on the opening night.
