I Design My Future Summer Activities | 4 – 20 August, Rosetta Arts
I Design My Future involves different creative activities throughout the year that can interest and benefit young people in Newham. This summer, we’re hosting a series of workshops designed by our youth board that focuses on the themes of rest, ease and recovery. Every workshop is designed for anyone between the age of 10 – 18 based in Newham. I Design My Future Summer Art Project 2022: Ease | Monday 15 – Saturday 20 August, 1 – 4pm
Join us for a week of making, arting, filming, connecting, and learning together. You choose what this looks like. We’re bringing a bunch of ideas, paint, and some hammocks but you bring the power! We could paint, sew, write, draw, collage, or film ourselves napping for a week and call it performance art (seriously). It’s up to you.
Rest Fest! Summer public art event created by Newham Young People | Saturday 20 August, 11am – 4pm, East Village
After a series of workshops held throughout August, our young Newham-based participants will be hosting this event to share their art in a public setting and give back what they have learned as a gift to the community. The event is free and everyone is welcome. Click here for more info.
Intergenerational Masterclass in portraiture | Thursday 18 August, 12 noon – 2pm, Jeyes Community Centre
We are looking for young people (12-18) to take part in an intergenerational workshop in held at Jeyes Community Centre. Local social documentary photography artist, Sylvie Belbouab will teach you different portraiture approaches you can use with your phone and polaroid techniques. Click here to sign up.
