Come and sing along: Indian classical singing on Saturdays

Curious about Indian classical singing? Then this is the course for you!

Indian classical singing is a centuries old practice that has been passed down orally from generation to generation.

This course will introduce the basic principles of Indian classical singing, such as singing the notes and note patterns, understanding melodic modes or ragas, and singing to rhythmic time cycles whilst being accompanied by the tabla drum.

We’re excited to host Ismail Mahmood on Saturdays who will be running these classes in the Humble Gallery at Rosetta Arts.

Ismail is a qualified post-diploma holder in Indian classical vocals from the prestigious Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan institution.
