LGBTQIA+ History Month: Queer Artist Call Out!

We want to celebrate LGBTQIA+ History Month with our queer community old and new in an exhibition! We would like to invite queer identifying artists to submit artwork on the theme of identity, with a special call out to our local community to answer the question, what does it mean to be queer in Newham?
We would be delighted to accept artworks in all forms: photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, poetry…please send images and a short bio to amy-rose@rosettaarts.org by 13 Feb.

Fashion and textile workshops for local refugees and asylum seekers

Thursdays 10-1pm, from January 25th 2024. There will be one to one counselling available and travel will be reimbursed.

IROKO ‘Home from Home’ Volunteer Videographers 

IROKO is looking for 5 people aged 18 – 25 as Volunteer Videographers to assist in their heritage project ‘Home from Home’ funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, celebrating the contributions of British-Nigerians to the British society. After oral history video recording and editing skills, delivered by Rosetta Arts, the volunteers will assist IROKO ‘Home from Home’ project in documenting the oral histories of Nigerian Londoners.

The training dates are as follows: Weds 29th November – 5.30 – 7.30pm – Oral History ; Sat 2nd December – 10.30 – 12.30 – Videography Session ; Weds 6th December – 5.30 – 7.30pm – Oral History session 2; Sat 16th December – 10.30 – 12.30 – Videography Session 2

Eastern European Photography Club: Newham Through Our Lens 

In partnership with: Roma Support Group, Rosetta Arts, Culture Within Newham, Centrala and Arts Council England.

The Eastern European Photography Club: Newham Through Our Lens, is a photography club open to all, serving as a platform for Eastern European migrants in Newham to tell their unique stories through the art of photography and a safe space to share ideas and experiences.

This free club takes place at Beckton Globe Library on two Saturdays a month at 10:30 to 12:30. The first session will be on the 20th of Jan 24. To register fill in the form here

Artist Development: Bow Skills 2024

Bow Skills is a low-cost, creative programme to support artists’ professional development, informed by an artist steering group and open to all creative practitioners across London. This season explores how to nourish your creativity, while providing practical tools to continue growing using social media, accessibility, and artist rights.
