Repair Your Favourite Clothes: A Beginner’s Mending Workshop
Learn about sustainable fashion-making and experiment with upcycling, mending and adjusting clothes
Saturday 4 July | 1pm - 4pm | £25
Workshop overview
Got a jumper with a hole? A favourite shirt that’s seen better days? A pair of jeans carrying the scars of questionable life choices?
Join sustainable fashion designer and craft researcher Zahra Amber for an afternoon of mending, stitching, and second chances.
We’ll explore simple hand-sewing and visible mending techniques to help breathe new life into the clothes you already love. Think of it as relationship counselling for your wardrobe: we’ll repair what’s torn, celebrate the imperfections, and discover why some things are worth holding onto.
Whether you’re recovering from a fashion heartbreak, rescuing a beloved garment, or simply curious about sustainable style, you’ll leave with practical repair skills, fresh creative ideas, and a renewed appreciation for the stories stitched into your clothes.
Bring along:
• A garment in need of a little TLC (tender, loving care )
• An old favourite with a story to tell (optional, but encouraged)
No sewing experience required - just curiosity, creativity, and perhaps a slightly damaged piece of clothing in search of redemption.
Because not everything that’s broken needs replacing.
