Rosetta Arts, 1 Hamilton Road E15 3AE
Overview
Launch of Homelessness in Performance, Art and Society with panel and co-created exhibition on care, creativity and solidarity.
This event will see the official launch of Nadine Holdsworth’s book Homelessness in Performance, Art and Society: Becoming Visible (Routledge 2026). It will include a panel who will talk about the vital work being undertaken in the arts and homelessness sector.
What to expect
It will also include an exhibition co-created with Arts & Homelessness International artists Alumni Associates, Amerah Saleh and Calum Perrin. Exploring some of the themes that surface in the book around care and solidarity, the exhibition will bring together a range of creative works and materials that engage with ideas around carelessness, caring attention, caring acts, caring solidarity, and how care is experienced. It will respond to the idea that crafting the conditions for creativity and creativity itself can be an act of care for the self and others.

About the book
Homelessness in Performance, Art and Society investigates the contemporary context of homelessness in England and how performance and the arts can engage with this complex issue to advocate for, value and foster the lives, creative identities and artistic ambitions of people who are or have been affected by homelessness. This book is ideal for students and scholars of applied theatre, socially engaged theatre, and broader humanities studies that interrogate the intersections between homelessness and the arts, as well as artists and community activists with an interest in this field.
This event is funded and supported by University of Warwick's Arts and Humanities Impact Fund .
This event is powered by Rosetta Arts' Loved & Wanted Fund.
