3 weeks | Mondays 6:30pm - 8:30pm | £75

Course overview

Join artist Jenni Allen for a fun and relaxed introduction to screen printing on paper using hand cut stencils from your own designs.

Over three weeks, you'll take inspiration from bold shapes, patterns, lettering and simple illustrations. Visual references will be available but you're welcome to bring some imagery that you might like to work from.

At the end of the course, you will leave with a small collection of colourful A4 sized prints.

This course is perfect for complete beginners and for those who have an understanding of screen printing but have never used paper stencils. Clear demonstrations and adaptations will be given so that everyone can follow along and enjoy being a printmaker!

Week 1: An introduction to the process of screen printing, the equipment, and how to plan and cut your stencil design.

Week 2: We’ll discuss opaque and translucent inks, you will mix your colours, set up your screen and print your first layer or background.

Week 3: Print a further 1 or 2 layers and share our admiration of each other’s finished work!
