Could your child be a creative star? Whether they are shy with a paintbrush or you just can’t stop them scribbling, our ART STARS! Saturday School offers a welcoming and inspiring place to develop their artistic skills across different mediums.
Enrolment is now open for the summer term of ART STARS! If your child is enrolled, they will also benefit from weekly Zooms, followed by 5 weeks of 2 hour face-to-face classes with the artist and a free art kit. For more information and to enrol your child click here.

Week one: Saturday 16 January 2021
ART STARS! is back. In the first lesson of 2021, Veronica shows you how to draw still life objects.
You’ll need a pencil and some sheets of paper.
Week Thirty: Saturday 19 December
In the final ART STARS! class of the year, Ani shows you how to embroider a coat of arms patch.
You’ll need paper, a pencil, scissors, felt, embroidery floss, an embroidery needle – and lots of patience!
Week Twenty-nine: Saturday 12 December
Veronica teaches you how to create a collagraph plate and collagraph print in this session. You’ll need some cardboard (the thicker the better), materials with different textures such as string, pasta and items you planned to recycle, PVA glue, paints, paintbrushes and a container of water.
Week Twenty-eight: Saturday 5 December
It’s collage week! Ani shows you how to layer paper and other materials into a collage arrangement in this episode of ART STARS!
Ani’s top tip: use items you were planning to recycle or throw away to build your collage so that it saves on waste.
You’ll need: a range of materials (e.g. pages from a newspaper and/or magazine, bits of plastic, thread), glue, a pencil, some felt tip pens and scissors. If you want to, you can also paint.

Week Twenty-seven: Saturday 28 November
Veronica looks at everyday things and layered scenes in this lesson on Scene Quotidienne.
Week Twenty-six: Saturday 21 November
Ani shows you how to paint a modernist landscape with watercolours using Georgia O’Keeffe as inspiration.
You’ll need watercolour paints, paper, paintbrushes, a pot or jar of water to clean your brushes and an image for inspiration (you can find the one Ani used by clicking here). You can also use a palette if you have one.
Week Twenty-five: Saturday 14 November
In this fun session, Veronica teaches you about the different methods you can explore with watercolour paints.
You’ll need watercolour paints, a few sheets of watercolour paper or your sketch book, pots of water, paintbrushes, a pencil and a biro. Ask an adult for some tinfoil and salt.
Week Twenty-four: Saturday 7 November
In the first lesson after half-term, Ani revisits animal anatomy with a particular focus on birds.
You’ll need a reference image (you can choose your own or use the same one as Ani which you can find below), a pencil and paper.
Week Twenty-three: Saturday 24 October
Join Veronica for week 23 of Art Stars as she teaches you a range of experimental drawing methods. You’ll need a pencil or pen, paper and some interesting objects such as toys that feature lots of detail.
Week Twenty-two: Saturday 17 October
