Children’s author and illustrator Rob Biddulph leads special ART STARS! session

Our ART STARS! took part in a special session led by bestselling children’s author and illustrator Rob Biddulph in partnership with BBC Proms, the world’s greatest classical music festival, on Saturday 19 June.

Rob, who is well known for Draw with Rob, a YouTube series of draw-along videos designed to help parents whose children were forced to stay home from school due to the coronavirus pandemic, guided the students through step by step animal drawing in our first face-to-face ART STARS! session of the year. The children created beautiful drawings of tortoises and swans against a backdrop of some of the music that will be performed in this year’s Family Prom.

The session is part of a programme of creative activities inspired by The Carnival of the Animals and organised by BBC Proms. It was a huge success and the young people involved enjoyed every minute!

Find out more about the project on the Proms website: BBC Proms: The Carnival of Animals.

Take a look at some of their excellent drawings below.

ART STARS! is part of the I Design My Future programme, funded by the Mayor of London’s Young Londoners fund.
